My Role
Responsibilities
As a product designer and product manager, my responsibility was to design user-centered digital solutions by conducting research, creating intuitive interfaces, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. I managed the product development process, ensuring that the design aligned with user needs and business objectives. I also iterated on the design based on user feedback and performance data, ensuring the product's success and impact.
Collaboration
As the product designer and product manager, I collaborated with another designer and a team of software engineers to ensure the design met both user needs and technical requirements. I worked closely with the engineering team to align on functionality and feasibility, iterated on the design based on technical feedback, and ensured the final product was user-friendly and aligned with business goals.
The Project
Challenge
Tracking Patient Progress: Managing patient data manually can lead to delays and confusion, making it difficult for healthcare providers to monitor patient treatment and outcomes efficiently.
Inventory Management: Manual tracking of medications can cause shortages or overstocking, resulting in the unavailability of crucial drugs or wasted resources during treatment.
Emergency Response: Slow responses to emergencies can lead to delayed patient transfers, negatively impacting outcomes in urgent medical situations.
Inefficient Scheduling and Follow-ups: Disorganized treatment schedules can lead to missed appointments, overlapping sessions, and inefficient use of medical resources, hindering patient care.
Data Overload for Administrators: Admins face difficulty managing large volumes of data, making it challenging to analyze patient records, treatment performance, and outcomes for effective decision-making.
Limited Visibility of Treatment Outcomes:
Without clear tracking of treatment success, healthcare professionals and admins may struggle to assess the effectiveness of interventions and identify areas for improvement.
Fragmented Communication Between Teams: Poor communication and lack of real-time data sharing between medical staff and administrators can cause delays, errors, and inefficiencies in patient care management.
Outcome
Improved Patient Monitoring: The dashboard allows real-time updates on patient progress, ensuring healthcare providers can track treatments, monitor outcomes, and intervene promptly when needed.
Efficient Inventory Management: Automated tracking of drug stock levels and reorder alerts reduces the risk of shortages and ensures that critical medications are always available for patient care.
Faster Emergency Responses: With the emergency response feature, healthcare providers can quickly activate alerts and facilitate the swift transfer of patients to the appropriate healthcare facilities, ensuring timely care.
Organized Scheduling and Follow-ups: Streamlined scheduling and follow-up features reduce scheduling conflicts, ensure patients receive timely care, and optimize the use of medical resources, improving overall efficiency.
Simplified Data Analysis for Administrators: The admin dashboard provides clear, visual data reports, enabling administrators to easily monitor and analyze patient stats, treatment outcomes, and healthcare performance for better decision-making.
Clear Treatment Outcome Visibility: The dashboard tracks and visualizes treatment outcomes, allowing healthcare teams to assess intervention effectiveness and make data-driven improvements in patient care.
Enhanced Communication Across Teams: Real-time data sharing between front-end medical staff and back-end administrators improves coordination, reduces errors, and ensures seamless patient care management across the system.
The solution consists of two dashbards which is the Front-end dashboard and Admin dashboard.
Front-end dashboard:
Patient Management: Displays metrics like the number of patients added and treated. It also allows the addition of new patients.
Inventory Tracking: Lists available drugs, their quantities, and reorder levels to ensure that medical supplies are always stocked.
My Schedule: Shows upcoming treatment sessions, including patient IDs, gender, cases, and intervention types. The dashboard allows medical professionals to manage and treat patients directly from here.
Admin Dashboard:
Overview of Metrics: Shows a broader overview of patients, users, and cases with graphical charts for easy analysis.
Treatment Guide: Displays details about treatments, including patient IDs, cases, locations, and the current status of interventions.
Intervention Analysis: Includes a chart and summary of various interventions (like SRHS, GBV, ITS), their outcomes, and success rates.
